I hope it does get a nerf, because it was nice to run without it and having to spend time making a good party. Once I tried it, it was the easy button; plug and play, just worry about your own build. I take forever to set up builds, reading skills and then having to deal with upgrading heroes for a specific build and taking them off and changing them, it's just mentally exhausting.

Discord is just a lazy crutch, one I'm guilty of, because it's tiring to basically play four characters at once. When we get full hero parties, I will science a new strategy, since I won't be limited by henchies, and I'll go back to my not-so-old ways of actually thinking. I've been busy unlocking every skill in the mean time.

Seriously, not everybody uses discord. >,< I used to use it only before, because it was the only build I found that was good for VQing. So I got stuck with it. But, I actuallt love balanced. It's just that discord is an incredibly good invetion

It deals great damage, loads of hexes and minions. It's very good. But, it is one target spike, which can be sometimes hard.

But when the 7 hero team comes, it's gonna be much fun. Cause I love to run balanced and try to use all the heroes that aren't used alot

People seem to forget that Discord while powerful needs 2 requirements to get the actual skill to work, heavy hex removal groups in HM can be tough, Hex Eater Vortex enemies can take you discord build and make it look weak, also this ain't a AoE spike build, it's a single target only build, your AoE spikes comes from MM nuker.

To the OP if you don't like discord then don't get into a group who's gonna be using heroes.

Discord isn't particularly good, it's just easymode.
All you gotta do is press 3 buttons over and over compared to what you need to do with builds that can have a higher efficiency.

As always, easy crap with little to no effort input versus a high reward output will win for the masses of scrubs.

There are many that will crumble and fail if it wasn't for pvx wiki. The problem being the rating system,it might be "great" on pvx but that does not make it actually great.. If anything Discord and great are two words that should never appear in the same sentence.

Pretty much same as in ~97% of the NM/HM game content...

I started to use discordway only after i had everything PvE-wise completed, only a few tyrian locations awaited to be vanquished, and i was grinding hero handbooks to max my EotN titles. I chose to fill them fully and, well, several quests are pain in the ass to H/H as a primairy mesmer (back then, anyway, without Panic and other fun stuff we have since May), namely DD was annoying, so i tried the first pvx gimmick i came across.
Still, i've completed pretty much everything balanced-way, with builds based on my own ideas (even my discordway is much different than the pvx-one). So i feel capable of doing the content without discordway. I actually support nerfing it, both via nerfing AP and the sheer N/Rt power and healing output (SR should be tweaked, the whole secondary class mechanics are flawed and there should be some limits on your secondary). Up until then, however, i'll continue steamrolling everything, including HM WiK bounties, with my altered discord.

Used correctly discord in hm is great, it makes the vq quicker than most other builds, i use it but i also use other builds depending on the situation, i dont use discord where there are not many bodies, most of all you people who say i don`t use it , i put money on have used it and thought wow this is really good, eles suck (not including earth and water) in hm, i have to admit i use a water ele alot, but it is what it is a gimmick build that works, it does exactly what it says it does (if used correctly of course), it`s pretty much one of the only builds that lets you roll hm missions with ease, so when it comes to doing the same mission christ knows how many times with different chars, i would rather do it quickly and easily than slug it out with most other builds. But i am not one of those people that where the discord on my team , if i roll with real people and they need heros i tend to use rits.
But all in all i like discord but if it goes i won`t lose any sleep.

If Discord was nerfed then bugger all would happen.
If minions and spirits were nerfed then casters suddenly have a much harder time achieving things H/H.

Discord isn't all that great - it overwhelms most content but then so does pretty much anything that has some sort of effective synergy (and a shitload of minions). The fact the player bar has one of the strongest spikes in the game recharged by AP has more to do with it than Discord being a spikey skill.

If Discord got changed or nerfed then players would learn to use something else and people like the op would have something different to qq about.

I think that players who have to group with pugs in order to get something done are the only ones who use gimmick builds that rely on Discord and/or spirit spam. I personally don't care what other players use - to each his own. If it works for them, then so be it.

It seems like there's a thread like this everytime some easy boss pops up as the Z-Bounty.

As others have said, it's great for vanquishing an area. Beyond that, well I'd prefer to run something more fun. Because that's why we play this game right?

The only thing I dislike about it is that it is part of the PvX wiki mentality that seems to have developed during the time I wasn't playing. Now I have to run a wiki bar if I join a pug or else I get kicked, and every player I meet reminds me of my friend who only plays the mindless console shooters of the month, and thinks Fallout 3 is "too complicated."

Heh. Keep your Discord. I'll stick to Mesmer Heroes. One anticaster, one anti weapons, and the rest of the characters just damage and heal. And done, you just stroll around killing anything on sight while they are utterly useless.

Discordway is not God Mode and it doesn't even work in all areas. I think it's a great way for players with slower reflexes, slower connections, and/or less expertise (not the ranger att.) to dip their toes into HM without getting clobbered in seconds.

As one progresses, there will be times when you have to adapt and change.

I admit that I use it as a default for VQ'ing areas when I don't want to have to overplan it. However I'll VQ with balanced teams, Racway (variant of), or whatever.

Don't use discords at all. I've transcended to the point where I can throw just about any random crap that I think will work on 3 heroes and for the most part it will.

If discord was suddenly massively nerfed, I imagine a large segment of the population will simply stop playing until full hero parties are implemented, OP team builds shouldn't be very difficult at all with those, especially with good runing and equipment.

Discord works perfectly fine in WiK.

However the world of GW is full of other builds that can be used instead of discord way. Like a Panic mesmer...

Never used discordway. I use a mix of modified sabway/spiritway and roll over anything I come across. When 7 hero party comes, hm is going to become super easy faceroll mode.
